Our insurance clients are currently seeking a suitable applicant to join their system development team. The candidate is responsible for:

 

Job Description:

  • To provide work estimates for proposed system changes and contribute to establishing the feasibility and economic justification for IT projects;
  • To analyse user requirements to produce functional and/or system specifications and provide coaching to analyst programmers or external developers to carry out programming tasks;
  • To conduct “Quality Assurance and Control” to ensure systems can operate accurately, effectively and efficiently; and assist users in preparing the user acceptance test plan;
  • To identify risks and suggest risk handling strategies for IT projects;
  • To prepare system documentation, e.g. design document, test plan, user training guide, etc., according to guidelines laid down in documentation standards; and review program documentation prepared by subordinates so as to ensure the system maintainability;
  • To train staff, including users, on new and existing system features and functions;
  • To analyse user problems and ad-hoc inquires, and to provide business / technical solutions; and
  • To handle ad-hoc assignments.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in system development, support and maintenance; with at least 2 years in System Analyst role.
  • Experience in pension business is a definite advantage
  • Hands-on experience in front-end web and back-end development using Java/J2EE, Spring, RESTful API, Hibernate, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES5/6), AJAX, JSON and Bootstrap;
  • Strong understanding of programming logic concepts, application analysis and design techniques;
  • Familiar with the application development tools such as .Net, VB, ASP, Crystal Report, Oracle and MS SQL is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and staff coaching skills, particularly in integrating and recommending various complicated IT / business solutions;
  • Able to lead system development projects independently;
  • Strong relationship building, in managing various business partners;
  • Good understanding of various IT platform, such as multi-tiers system architecture and IT System Development methodologies (SDLC, Agile, DevOps);
  • Experience in database design and large scale data migration;
  • Experience in vendor management;
  • Good written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Knowledge of pension business, terminology and products is highly preferred
