Our client is a global apparel brand headquartered in Hong Kong.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Buying:
- Drive growth in sales, profit, and customer footfall, and optimize the profit and loss (P/L) statement and ending inventory.
- Develop strategic merchandising plans based on sales analysis and market trend forecasts.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to create an Open to Buy (OTB) plan, considering financial metrics such as sales, initial/ending gross profit, discount rates, product mix, and buffer stock.
- Work closely with the Design team to create market-appealing merchandise.
Buying Optimization:
- Improve buying accuracy by determining category percentages, selecting suitable styles and color ratios, and developing assortment plans.
- Monitor sales performance through effective visual merchandising, product arrangement, and promotional activities.
- Analyze product performance using weekly sales reports and take necessary actions to maximize sales potential.
Supplier and Production Management:
- Coordinate with the Production team to ensure merchandise quality and costing.
- Determine discount rates and pricing during discount periods.
- Forecast sales demand during discount periods.
- Ensure the discount plan meets company requirements for the overall discount rate, gross profit, and sales target.
Budget and Performance:
- Meet company requirements for sales budget, gross profit, and product mix percentage.
- Review and endorse the buy plan before submission.
- Provide timely product evaluations and participate in judging panels.
- Ensure efficient fabric usage and manage fabric reservations.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Job Requirements:
- Degree or above in Fashion Retailing, Statistics, Supply Chain, Finance & Accounting, or related fields.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a proven retail buying track record for an in-house apparel brand in the region with over 30 points of sale.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables and Vlookup.
- Good command of written and spoken Cantonese.
- 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Strong business acumen with a detail-oriented and proactive approach.
- Result-driven mindset with a willingness to take ownership and execute tasks.
- Strong networking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
